Day #44, Wednesday

Good Wednesday everyone! I hope all is awesome in your world today.

BELL WORK:
Let’s chat about re-occurring themes from almost every class we have covered:
QUESTION:
In what ways has the Internet (media) CHANGED the world for the GOOD and FOR THE BAD.

ACTIVITY:
Grab a post it note. Do some research in regards to the question above.
FRONT of POST IT:
-WHAT TYPE OF MEDIA impacted the event? (newspaper, social media, radio, tv)
-WAS the event GOOD or BAD? (you are doing one of each) (write a big + or – sign)
-EXPLAIN EVENT in two points
BACK OF POST IT:
-WHERE is it? (City Name (if applicable), Country)
-additional interesting info
-(make sure and also put your initials in the back of the bottom right hand corner)

Example: In Oslo Norway, social media played a role in saving the lives of 23 youth who hid during a terrorist attack that killed over 80 children. The youth hiding used social media to tell the world where they were and eventually police intervened, the terrorist was caught and many were saved. This was a + event. MEDIA: Facebook (JM)
-I would report this to the class and then put it on the World Map.
-I would then go and complete a media negative post it to repeat what was just completed.

PRESENTATION:
When you have your two post it’s. You will present them to the class and put them where they happened on the WORLD MAP.
(Then you can have time to work on your TKAM).
