A reminder that I am away for this week. I am sorry to leave you but I have left you in excellent hands! Remember I am speaking at a conference and hoping to learn a lot to bring back in to the classroom. Please not only behave for your sub but get some work done as well. Show her how awesome you guys are- I want her to appreciate each and every one of you like I do!  🙂 You have the power to give her a great week and she deserves it. PERIOD 1: ENGLISH 10
Progress Report Day!
I have already done this for you.
Please hand out progress reports to the period 1 class. They should be included in this package.

We will watch the The Week in Rap together.
Discuss together as a class.

Read the following learning targets to students:
I can speak to inform others of my opinion or my groups opinion.
I can define and give an example of sarcasm of irony.

You will define students to define:
SARCASM and IRONY.

Define sarcasm and irony.
SARCASM: is a particular form of irony, usually verbal. The intent of sarcasm is to make fun of.

IRONY: involves the use of words or situations that convey the opposite of what is meant.

Hand out the story: Thanks for Not Killing My Son
I have provided paper copies. Please have students read the letter on their own.
Give them time.
