DAY #6; SGMS101 and 102 2015

BELL WORK:
Let’s watch the following videos:
(Disregard why this video was created… ‘to sell alcohol’ and let’s ask the question what is good about this video and maybe what is bad. Now, this video was created to sell alcohol… how does the “I Am Canadian!” campaign sell more alcohol? Is this good or bad?)

Extra kudos and thanks to: Renzelle, Daniel, Ethan, Rene, Lizelle, Kaitlyn, Chloe and Jenna who absolutely KNOCKED their first two assignments out of the park and brought papers back the first days. As for the rest of you; you guys rock too. I am still waiting on 2 Ballad of Birmingham questions as well (you know who you are).
*Remember it is important to stay up with us- you will get more out of class the more you put in. I don’t give much for homework but when I do it is important to try and fit in. Thanks! 🙂

Period 1/Period 4:
Learning targets:
I can interpret text by First Nations authors.
I can interpret text from a fiction novel.

We will start with a Kahoot this morning/afternoon!
It’s time to test how much you are remembering from class. I sure hope you read, “The Old Man’s Lazy.”

Period 2/Period 5:
I would like to start Photography/Media Studies with a music video today to again just set the tone.
Let’s watch together and we will discuss after.  Lyrics to the following SONG.

GOAL:
I will develop proficiency with Adobe Photoshop to manipulate/graphic design for a purpose.

I can demonstrate techniques such as retouching, skin correction, contrast and layering, as examples of manipulation in an image that is graphically designed.
I can demonstrate techniques such as panoramas, stitching, and masking as examples of manipulation in an image that is graphically designed.
I can provide personal and ethical justification for choosing manipulation procedures to enhance an image.


Please wrap up one CREATIVE and unique image (shot in manual) of all that was requested in your scavenger hunt.
When you are all done let’s IMPORT them into your iPHOTO.
Please arrange your photos in iPHOTO for the semester. You may want to back up your favourite images into the cloud (your Google Drive) in case something happens. You will not hand these in right NOW. But, all must be done.
Show Miss Mann you have them all. She will check them over. When that is complete you will start a PHOTOSHOP lesson!
