Thursday and Friday Plans…

Hey guys,
I hope the residential school video conference was good.
I saw some great tweets.
Remember, if you learn one thing- it is worth it.
Can you believe we did that to children in our own country?
If you haven’t watched; We Are Children yet… do it.
If you were in my Native Studies class last year, you will have seen it.
It puts the horrors into perspective.
P.S. I just planned another field trip for January for you guys.
We will get to see the Stanley Cup and also have a project about the marketing throughout the Hockey Day in Canada week.

Period 1; 9:00 Video Conference
Residential School Video Conference
-Students will sit at the back and take in the conference.
-Ms. Miller is organizing and facilitating this.
(As soon as announcements are over; please go directly to VC room above the library.)
*Students do not need to bring computers.
-Sit at the back.
(Students are allowed to take their cell phone so they can Tweet during the conference.
Please ensure they are listening and encourage them to participate if Ms. Miller allows.
Period 2: English Essay Work Period.
(I will try and look at these Thursday night after my conference.)
RAIDER TIME (Mrs. Young will facilitate.)

Period 3:
Today you can have this period to just WORK!
*Guys, I know it is tough to concentrate this time of year, especially a sub.
Pick a plan and get 1 thing done if nothing else.
Get your headphone in and get in the zone. When all else fails- try and finish your English essays!

-Independent Novel Study
-Photography Final Project
-To Kill a Mockingbird Final Project
-Social Issues video is OVERDUE
-Updating Their WordPress and formalizing their notes (This will be good for Jan!)
-They can also begin thinking of a plan for their final MEDIA STUDIES projects.

Period 1: Photography 20 Work Period

Period 2: English Essay Work Period
*Remember; Works Cites page must consist of 8 different authentic citations.

How many sections sections are the areas of income assistance broken up into?
List all of them.
Explain one in each that surprises you. What is offered to these individuals?
Read THIS.
Take a stance;
What is your opinion on social assistance and welfare?
Is it good? Is it bad?
Complete a free write talking about some of the issues you have/supports you have for ‘welfare.’
