I would like to personally and publically thank the following individuals from The City of Lloydminster for the meeting we held today about building partnerships between our community and school.
Penny Manners, Communications Officer
Ken Coleman, Deputy CAO, Community Services
Kelly Kirkpatrick, Executive Assistant of Community Services
Barb McKeand, Manager, Barr Colony Heritage Cultural Centre
Brin Dyer, Bookings Coordinator
Patrick Lancaster, Supervisor, Servus Sports Centre
Each of these individuals was not only willing, but excited to come and sit down with me today to talk about how important links between students and community can be for all involved. I have never been so excited in my entire professional career as I am in this moment.
The School of Global Media Studies has a tremendous amount of support already and people from all over Lloydminster and area are excited about possibilities and collaboration. I feel like the luckiest teacher in the world today and feel so fortunate to have grown up in a community that cares about youth and their education. Thank you to each of these individuals for what is yet to come as we officially annouce today a partnership together. Off to meet with Colin Budd and The Lloydminster Source on Thursday- big things shaking down at the Source and we want to be a part!
